Raja Belmalih, a UNICEF goodwill ambassador since 2000, has devoted all her life to her passion: singing and Arabic literature. Her talents were revealed by a Moroccan TV show, Mawahib, over 20 years ago.
Becoming a star in her homecountry did not deter her from pursuing her university studies and she passed a Masters degree in Arabic literature and Philosophy in Rabat in the mid nineties.
She is linked to many charities in her native Morocco but also in other Arabic countries. She remains an outspoken voice to promoting arts in its various forms in Morocco.
Raja is the proud mother of Omar aged 5 years. She shares her time between the United Arab Emirates - her adopted home country - and Morocco.
Raja has always refused giving any statements about her illness and commented on www.mazika.com that "she did not want to exploit her disease to publicity". Raja is battling against cancer. We would like to express our love to her and tell her that she has to hang on. We wish her a prompt recovery and hope to hear her singing again.

Raja Belmalih, une ambassadrice the l'UNICEF depuis 2000, a consacré toute sa vie à sa passion : la chanson et la littérature Arabe. C’est lors d’une émission de télévision, Mawahib, que les talents exceptionnels de Raja furent révélés au public marocain, il y a maintenant 20 ans.
La célébrité qu’elle connait alors au Maroc ne la détourne pas de son ambition de terminer ses études supérieures. Elle obtint un DEA avec mention de l’université de Rabat dans les années 90.
Raja est liée à de nombreuses associations caritatives au Maroc mais également ailleurs dans le monde arabe. Elle reste une avocate assidue de l’art marocain dans toutes ses formes.
Raja est la fière maman du petit Omar, 5 ans. Elle a toujours refusé de faire des commentaires sur son état de santé. Néanmoins, Raja se bat aujourd’hui contre le cancer et nous voulons lui témoigner tout notre amour et lui dire de se battre. Nous lui souhaitons de se rétablir et d’égayer notre quotidien de l’éclat magique de sa voix.
